Welcome to the WMHA Skills Page.  My name is Barrie MacDonald and I will be handling the role of Coaching Director and Player Skill Development for this coming season.   As of yet there are no concrete dates set for the Skill Clinics to start but as we sort through the ice scheduling we will be looking to start sometime in early October and run for about 10 weeks. Details will be posted as times and dates become available.   This year as in past years we will be offering Skill Clinics to Novice, Atom, Peewee, Bantam and of course Goaltenders for all of these age groups within the WMHA.  The clinics will focus mainly on the 5 core hockey skills (skating, stick handling and puck control, shooting and scoring, passing and receiving and checking skills). Goaltending Clinics will be held separately and focus on age appropriate goaltending skills as needed.  Although all of these skills are practiced in the Team environment throughout the season, our focus will be more directed to the Individual Skill and Individual Tactic elements with ample time to refine and develop through repetition and proper instruction.  We are very pleased to announce that the price this year will be $50.00 for skaters and $25.00 for goalies.
