ATTENTION 2011 PLAYERS & PARENTS

WMHA is proud to announce the addition of a Novice AA team.  WMHA would like to thank all the Bluewater executives and center reps for making this team possible.

This team will follow all guildlines set forth by the Bluewater hockey league, Hockey Canada & OMHA. Just to be clear there is NO OMHA playdowns for this division, just Bluewater playoffs.

Details on the season structure and how this team will operate will be discussed with only the parents & players that are successful on making the team.

We will be looking for 16 players as there’s no set goalies at this age level as per Hockey Canada  guidelines. Every player will get a chance to play goalie.

Any questions regarding goaltending or team operations  please contact [email protected]

Parents & Players

Players will be evaluated during house league start ups for the first 4 skates (Sept, 07,08,14,15).
(These evaluation are only so we get to watch these players more then twice and only players that attend tryouts will be eligible to be selected)

Tryouts for this team will be held on Saturday September, 21st @ 6:00PM  &  September 22nd @ 4:00PM
both will take place at Adie Knox Arena. Players must attend tryouts to be eligible for selection.

Cost is $10 per skate.

We are extremely excited to announce as the Novice AA Head Coach, retired NHL player & WMHA alumni, Aleksander Stojanov

Message from the Coach

As a new head coach, I’m excited to teach what I’ve learned from my years in hockey to a young and excited group of athletes.

My wife and I have a family motto:

"Work hard.
Have fun.
Be good."

This is my basic coaching and playing philosophy, as well.

The way I see it,
If you work hard, you’ll have fun.
If you're having fun, you’ll be good.
If you’re being good, you’ll also be working hard.

It’s an easy and straight forward approach to life as a whole and sports.

We sell our kids short when we protect them, solve problems for them or intervene in every little feud or problem, on their behalf. Through hockey, respect, self disciple, work ethic and the benefits of accepting delayed gratification can be learned. My players will be challenged  to be the best they can be, on and off the ice, and to bring out the potential that I see in them.

I imagine there will be tough days - but tough days make tough people and tough people make better days.

I look forward to seeing you all this year. If anyone at any level in novice has questions for me about any way I can help their child grow and reach their potential, my door is always open.

PS. I don’t pull any punches and I will tell you exactly as I see it... good, bad or ugly. You can always count on my sincerity when it comes to your children and their development as players and strong kids.

Looking forward to seeing all of you at Tryouts, Best of luck to all the players trying out.
