There
are seven weeks left now in the season. Playoffs will begin in the next few
weeks. The schedule will be posted this week, so please check the website for
ice times.
During the playoffs, teams will play each other once. If there is a tie after three games by points, it will go by GF%.(F.Y.I. - The GF% will be determined with a 5 goal mercy if any team loses by a margin greater than 6) If there is still a tie, it will be determined by most goals, then least number of penalties. They will then play in a semi-final game on February 26th, 2017. They will play as follows: 1st vs 4th place and 2nd vs 3rd.
The winning teams will compete in the Day of Champs on Sunday, March 5th, 2017. Medals will be given at the awards banquet. The other two teams will play in a consolation game on Saturday, March 4th. There will be no tie breakers or pulling of the goalie in playoffs.
I know that this is a very exciting time and the adrenaline will be flowing. Remind your kids to have fun and play with sportsmanship and respect to their team and their opponent. This is all about FUN and FAIRPLAY.
However, yelling at or criticizing referees, coaches, convenors and timekeepers, or bickering between team parents WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! Anyone who displays this behavior will be subject to displine.
