To all WMHA Travel Tryout Families
We would like to welcome you to the 2018/2019 Windsor Minor Hockey Travel Season!

WMHA realizes that the decision to enter a travel program is an important decision and one that should be taken seriously. The commitments of both time and money should be considered before entering.

Please consider the following points

  1. The high level of commitment to be in a Travel program (min. 3 hours of ice/week, plus any out of town tournaments).
  2. We ask that our travel program be your highest priority sport throughout the season must be 100% committed to WMHA and your team.
  3. Travel is required. You could be travelling to a maximum of 3 out of town tournaments and possible travel down the 401 for the OMHA semi’s & finals.
  4. Travel hockey will require a larger financial commitment over house league, however, we partake in various forms of fundraising to help with this.

Please consider all of the above before trying out.

Communication

  1. Communication between parents and coaches or the evaluation team during the tryout process is strictly forbidden. If there’s any suspicion or accusations regarding coaches or evaluators being approached by Parents (face to face, electronically, at the rink, outside of the rink or otherwise) will be thoroughly investigated. Communications between parents, coaches or evaluators during tryouts could be interpreted as an attempt to manipulate the selection process
  2. All communication regarding the tryout process MUST go through the VP of Travel James Bornais until the teams are set. Once the teams are set the coaches will directly communicate the following details, jersey fitting and the parents meeting details.
  3. Absolutely NO coach or evaluator or WMHA board member may provide any information regarding individual player details or placement. Communication will be provided to all the players and parents at the same time through the WMHA website. The list will be posted the following morning after your try outs at 8:00am with details for the next try out.
  4. Please refrain from yelling or cheering during your child's tryouts. This will ensure not to distract the concentration of the coaches & evaluation team.
  5. Throughout the tryout process the coaches and evaluation team’s area will be identified and cordoned off for privacy. We ask that you respect these areas and refrain from entering.

YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE

  1. Players that miss one tryout and still remains on the list will be responsible to pay the try out fee for the missed try out. You must let the V.P of travel (via email) know if you have to miss a tryout. If this is not done that player will be disqualified from try outs.
  2. Players are not to have any names on their jerseys for example do not wear last season jerseys. Practice jersey work best just no identifying jerseys
  3. NRP will only be available upon request. Please email all request to [email protected] please include which  A center you wish to try out for( this is mandatory in order to receive an NRP)

We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that our tryouts process is fair to all players and family’s and we wish you all the best of luck.

We are looking forward to the season and wish you all a successful 2018-19 Season

Kind regards,

James Bornais
