Game 16 - 18 and Tournaments
Article written by Heather Dobransky

Where has the season gone? With only a handful of regular season games left were all wondering where the last three months went. Windsor's Atom Minor AA team faced off against  the Riverside Rangers on November  16th for the first time this season.  The Rangers walked away with a 7-0 win.  On November 22nd the Spits played against Erie North Shore on Windsor's ice. Unfortunately the kids could not get one in the net and Erie took the game 4-0.  On Sunday November 23rd the Kent Cobras swept the game with a final score of 12-0.  Then it happened for this great bunch of kids, they won their first tournament as 'Team Canada' playing for the Nations Cup in Rochester Michigan. The excitement was high and the confidence in the kids abilities could be seen and felt! The boys demonstrated the ability to persevere, they showed tremendous teamwork, and relationships were built both on and off the ice.  With back to back tournaments the team continued with their success as competitors for the  Motown Cup in Brownstown Michigan. The boys showed up each and every game and were undefeated in all 5 games, totaling 10 undefeated games in two weekends. Needless to say Windsor's Atom Minor Junior Spitfires won the tournament and brought home the cup. It was great to see the joy in the kids faces and the feelings of pride and accomplishment they felt! Great job boys (and coaches too!!)

Go Spits Go!!!!
