Playdowns Round 2 Game#4 Windsor 7 Essex 0
The Windsor Jr Spits took to action in game for venturing to Essex for what we presumed to be another battle to remember.

Period 1

The puck dropped and this time it was a different Windsor team. Immediately they forced the play in to the Essex zone. Windsor continued to put pressure on the Essex Ravens with superior puck movement. We scored the first goal with a blazing top corner from Muxy. Later in the period, Miller scores one from a sharp angle to the left of the goal tender and we are up 2-0. As play continues Essex is fighting back but Windsor appears to have more puck control and more opportunities.

Period 2

In period two Windsor continues to have far more chances and apply far more pressure as their puck movement is leaving Essex with wide open holes to fill. The pressure we have received in the past few games has been negated with this game plan. Justin scores putting us up 3-0. Later in the period Muxlow nails his second of the game. More pressure from the Junior Spits result in 5 more shots but the Essex net minder gives his team hope by stopping them all. At the end of 2 it is Windsor 4 Essex 0

Period 3

Windsor continues it's relentless pressure. Gamble is stopped on 2 huge opportunities and Miller is denied once but nails once through the 5 hole putting us up 5-0. Essex battles back and Aiden Woytowich comes up huge with a right pad save robbing the Ravens and keeping them off of the board. Later in the 3rd it is Muxlow dipsie doodling though a few Ravens to net his hat trick and we are up 6-0. More pressure from Windsor and Steven Thomas scores his first of the play downs putting us up 7-0. As the game ends Windsor is wild with exuberance and celebrating their victory. They now move on to the next round.

This game was orchestrated by our coaches who notices Essex was playing a high pressure game. Opening up ice by puck movement and sharp passing resulted in more opportunities and fewer battles for the puck. Our guys were able to enjoy an advantage in puck possession leaving us with more opportunities.

As I have said in previous articles: The Essex Ravens were so much improved that you can only give high praise to this coaching staff and their players. As for us, we move on to the next round and likely face the Tecumseh Eagles 1 team, who at this time are enjoying a 4-0 points lead against the St. Thomas Stars - the unknown quantity of our Playdowns.

Way to go boys - let's keep on rollin
