Play Down Round Robin Game#1 Windsor 4 LaSalle 4
In the opening game of the Play Down Round Robin the Windsor Jr Spits took on the rugged and skilled LaSalle Sabres.
Period 1
The first period starts and Windsor has the pressure on. Windsor scores first as Muxlow changes direction behind the net for a wrap around goal. Muxlow from Grif and Knowler. 1-0. Windsor is controlling the game more than LaSalle but cannot score further as the period ends.
Period 2
In the second period Knowler fires one in from Fin and Justin. 2-0. No LaSalle is fighting back. They have some tenacity. They score narrowing the gap. Reinmeitz comes back for Windsor with a goalfrom Sperduti. It is 3-1. Lots of action but no more scoring. As we head to the 3rd, Windsor has a comfortable lead.
Period 3
LaSalle scores 30 seconds into the final frame. 3-2 Windsor The 3rd is fought hard with both teams having their chances. Windsor looks to be headed for victory when , at the 5:24 mark , LaSalle scores and tie the game 3-3. . LaSalle scores again and it is tied with 5:21 left to play. Windsor fights back and with 3:27 Miller scores from Muxlow 4-3 for the Spits. LaSalle does not quit. With 1:54 to play LaSalle tie it up at 4 goals each. Windsor keeps the pressure on but cannot score and the game ends in a tie.
Windsor outplayed LaSalle but the score sheet showed a tie. We gave this one away. Let’s hope we don’t do that again.
