Jr. Spits Pull Off a Close One Against the Cobras
The Kent Cobras and Jr Spits met this afternoon in what turned out to be an exciting game!Ward opened the scoring in the first period for the Jr Spits, but the Cobras quickly replied with one of their own With 33 seconds left in the first period, Pougnet scored Windsor’s second goal of the game to make it 2-1 Spits.   

The score remained unchanged into the third period, but both teams were battling hard and the game could have went either way. With 3:34 remaining , the Cobras got a break when the Jr. Spits were given a penalty. With the face off in Windsor’s  end, the Cobras quickly pulled their goalie, giving them a 6 on 4 advantage. The Cobras were pushing hard in the Spits end, but Windsor’s goalie, Larocque, remained steady and eventually the penalty was killed off. Kent wasn’t giving up though, and with only a little over a minute left, they continued to pressure the home team, hungry for a tying goal. With the Cobra’s goalie still out of the net, Windsor’s defense bumped the puck over the blue line, where it was picked up by Ward, who took off with it down the ice. With the Cobras close on his tail, he took the shot, and scored the empty-netter, making it 3-1 Windsor, final score.

The unbeaten streak lives another day!
