Season Opener - Diamonds in the rough
Tonight the Atom AE Jr Spitfires opened their regular season against a tough opponent in the Tecumseh Eagles. Although the team came out of the game on wrong side of the score board there were plenty of things from every player and goalie that were seen during the game by the coaching staff that shone through.
When the effort was present we proved we can skate with Tecumseh and probably any other team.
When we use each other we proved that we can complete passes and move the puck past the other team.
When we don't give up on the play we proved that we can win battles for the puck. If we win the battles we will win our shifts when we win our shift we will win periods and when we win periods we will win games.
Each player displayed some good aspects to their game and things to work on; that is expected.
We look forward to polishing the rough edges practice by practice and shift by shift in the games.
We will be a different beast for Tecumseh on Sunday.
