The real deal
Today's game against Tecumseh didn't fully end up in the way we were wanting but one thing did happen and that is Tecumseh now knows we are the real deal.
A first place team does not celebrate a regular season, 1 goal game, win the way they did without coming to the realization that there were in a dog fight of a game and didn't come out unscathed. It was a well fought game by both teams and was a pleasure to be a part of.
We out played them the majority of the game. Colin made some huge saves for us and the back checking by the forwards and solid D by the 4 defensemen. I really don't think they expect to be in the fight they found themselves in with us. Like the coaches discussed in the dressing room we gave them 2 goals by not being hard on our sticks and getting the puck out of our end. The other area that didn't help was the penalties. There is a big difference between playing gritty but clean and playing dirty and selfish. We simply are a better team when we have everyone available to play instead of being in the "sin bin".
Keep the heads up boys a 3-2 loss on a hard fought game is nothing to be down about.
Thursday is a new game. They now know what they are in for but I also know we have a whole new level of play we can bring against them.
Give it your all at practice this week and it will pay off during the game on Thursday.
