What a great game boys!! Tonight we beat the Tecumseh-Shoreline Eagles by a score of 7-2.
Caleb and I would like to thank the team for dedicating the game to us before the drop of the puck out of respect for the loss of our grandfather and father yesterday. Having two sons as goalies and two grandsons as goalies he loved the position and breakaways so it was fitting to have penalty shot in the game. He also coached many sports and enjoyed the life lessons that team sports teaches more than the sport specific lessons themselves. It i my hope that these types of dedications the team has done this year have lasting imprints on their hearts and minds
Although the regular season record against the Eagles closed out tonight with a 1-5-0 record the last 2 games put our hard work on full display. Take time to enjoy your accomplishments, look back and see where we have come from, and learn from all the little and big successes and failures we have experienced together thus far.
I am not going to say much more than it took a team to win tonight.
Get ready to give even more in practice this weekend. Individual development is a cumulative process but the sum of the individual players effort to does not equal the development of the team. The team, when everyone is contributing, is always better than the total of the individual players.
We're not done with Tecumseh yet as we expect to see them in the Silver Stick Tournament and in playdowns. In the time between now and when we faceoff against them again the team that puts in the most work and shows up at game time will come out victorious.
