By virtue of the current WMHA Board of Directors it is our intention to Repeal the current WMHA Constitution, and replace it with the Bylaws as attached in this notice of intent. 

It is also the Boards intention to use the applicants for the Director positions, as collected by the current constitution, and allow all who applied to be elected or appointed to volunteer under the new Bylaws pending it successfully is voted through. 

The date of our AGM is currently TBD until the OMHA gives further direction as to when we can host hockey events. Applicants will be announced 2 weeks prior to the AGM.  Read More

Due to the heightened concerns over the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), the OMHA has imposed an immediate suspension on any hockey related activities until further notice. This is effective immediately, and is to be followed by all WMHA participants. This includes any practices, games, dryland, team parties, the WMHA Novice-PeeWee Awards Banquet, and the Volunteers Banquet. We will keep our membership informed as we receive directive from the OMHA.  Read More

Coaching applications are still being accepted for House League the 2020/2021 season.

If you've ever wanted to coach in one of our house league divisions, or are currently coaching and would like to reapply for your team, please see the attached document and follow the steps as indicated. **PLEASE NOTE** The coaching application form is currently for House League.  There are references to travel but please apply using the same form.  Once you have followed the link to the application form you will have the option to select which division you wish to apply for. Coaching application review committee

As stated in the coaching application process we have created a review committee. The current committee that will be reviewing and interviewing the travel coaching applicants will be:  

Rick Murdoch - Life member/Former VP of Travel
Derek Treverton - Director of coaches
Shannon Munson - VP of House/OMHA rep
Ron Lohnes - Director of skills and clinics
Kipp Van Kuren  - Travel director/Acting VP of Travel

Just a reminder, not all applicants will be chosen for interview.  If you are selected to be interviewed you will be contacted by March 8th 2020

Effective for the 2020-2021 season, minor hockey associations, including those in the Ontario Hockey Federation’s Member Partners - OMHA, ALLIANCE, GTHL, NOHA and the OWHA - will be following the U7 (IP), U9 (Novice) and U11 (Atom) Player Pathways.  With the implementation of the U11 (Atom) Player Pathway in the 2020-2021 season, key changes have been made to the Player Pathways at U7 (Initiation) and U9 (Novice).   This will create consistency in all programming across the country and a seamless transition for players from U7 (Initiation) through to U11 (Atom) based on the Long Term Player Development model. Our travel tryouts for the upcoming 2020/2021 season will be held between May 2nd and May 9th at Central Park Athletics.  These tryouts will be for Peewee major/minor, Bantam major/minor, and Midget minor.  All Atom, Novice and Midget major teams will tryout in September.  This is due to the new Hockey Canada Atom pathway.

Please check back as we will be posting the tryout schedule for May 2-9th in the coming weeks.
