On-ice helpers and Managers require:

1) Activity Leader Respect in Sport

2) Gender Identity and Expression Course

3) Vulnerable Sector Check from your local Police Detachment where you live

  Trainers require:

1) Activity Leader Respect in Sport

  2) Gender Identity and Expression Course

3) Vulnerable Sector Check from your local Police Detachment where you live

4) Hockey Trainers of Ontario Course

House League Coach, House League Assistant Coach require:

1) Activity Leader Respect in Sport

2) Gender Identity and Expression Course

3) Vulnerable Sector Check from your local Police Detachment where you live

4) Online Hockey University H/U Coach 1/2

5) Online Coach 1 (U9 and Below) or Coach 2 (U10 and above, Coach 2 also requires Checking Skills Course)

  • All Team Officials must complete Rowan’s Law Resource Review & Acknowledgement

  • All Team Officials must agree and abide by the OMHA Code of Conduct 

  • All qualifications must be registered in the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR)

  • All Courses cost will be reimbursed if approved prior to taking, and once placed successfully on an approved roster.

Team Trainer

All WMHA teams require a Trainer which requires an online course through Hockey Trainers of Ontario.


The certification is good for 3 years, after which you must take the Trainer refresher (by August 31) or retake the entire course!

Full course - Fee $25.00

Course refresher – Fee $8.50



D1 – Developmental Stream

This clinic is for all Travel Coaches that are coaching for U12 to U18. This is a 16-hour clinic (two days) and the certification is valid for 3 years.  The course includes an on-ice component which will be held on the 2nd day.

 

Coach Refresher

Required as a re-certification for the Developmental One Clinic and Coaches Stream.

There are a variety of clinics and activities that can be done to upgrade. Refer to your Coach’s Locker on coach.ca.
