This past weekend our U10A and U11A teams travelled up the highway to Cambridge for some tournament action in the the Preston International Tournament
The U10 Windsor Jr. Spitfires Coached by Bob Hannan, and Sponsored by Pro Hockey Life, went 6-0 to win the 2025 Preston International Hockey Tournament. Battling through some very tough opponents the team won many close games with some last second heroics to clinch the title. In the Final vs. Center Wellington Fusion they went down 1-0 early only to battle back to a 3-1 victory in the glorious Galt Gardens Arena. The Oldest Arena in Canada was a beautiful backdrop for this team to raise the cup. Winning 3 of their 4 tournaments, this one will keep a special place in their hearts. The U10s then supported the U11A team battle to victory on the very ice they just played. Way to go U10A!
The U11A Jr. Spitfires Coached by Matt Boroski and Scotty Glover, and Sponsored by Brian's Source for Sports, also participated in The Preston International Hockey Tournament this past weekend. After a 3-0 round robin record and a convincing 5-0 semi final win vs. North Durham, the boys found themselves in the finals and in a rematch against the #19 Ontario ranked Temiskiming Puckhounds with a tough act to follow after seeing the U10 Spits win gold. After finding themselves in a 2-0 deficit, the boys rallied and came all the way back, eventually notching the game winner with 4 minutes left to secure a 4-3 victory and their 2nd tournament win of the season. Special call out to captain Julian Caruna who recorded all 4 goals in the final game. Congratulations boys on another tournament win!!
