Central Park Athletics Steps Up as Major Sponsor for Windsor Jr. Spitfires
Windsor Minor Hockey Association is excited to announce that Central Park Athletics will be the primary sponsor for our travel program. Central Park Athletics has generously agreed to sponsor all of our travel teams. This includes our minor development U8 team through our U18AA team and all of our BB teams as well (Club 240 will continue to sponsor our U16AA [Midget Minor] team annually).

In 2021 Windsor Minor Hockey and Central Park Athletics agreed to a landmark partnership and today, Central Park Athletics launches a major expansion of their support for Minor Hockey throughout the region. In becoming primary sponsors of the Windsor Minor Hockey Association travel program, they take on a lead funding and support role, including the provision of an official home-ice facility for the group. As primary sponsors, the donation will help alleviate some of the financial burden associated with travel hockey, this sponsorship will also allow our teams to benefit from many of the amenities that Central Park Athletics has to offer, including fundraising opportunities in the state of the art Clip and Climb, multi-sport simulators and indoor Pickleball courts.

When Central Park Athletics was created, it was driven by a vision of a multi-sport and educational complex that exemplifies the mental and physical benefits of elite and recreational activities. The goal was to create a family-friendly space where people of all skill levels, from beginners to professional athletes, could pursue their goals in a safe, welcoming and inspiring environment.  Central Park Athletics has been a long time supporter of health and education in Windsor and Essex county.

Since its opening over 10 years ago, Central Park Athletics has been the official home of Windsor AAA Hockey and now it is also the official home of the Windsor Minor AA/BB travel program. The facility includes modern, professional-level spaces (and a soon-to-be-opened fitness facility) designed to motivate and inspire young hockey players to be their best.

Minor Hockey has a long and proud history in Windsor Essex, with associations that have helped launch many top professional players. For the future stars, and for those who will go on to play the game for the pure pleasure it brings, this announcement ensures a thriving hockey culture for Windsor Minor Hockey and in our community for years to come.

Club 240
Founded by the late Jimmy Hogan, inductee into the Windsor-Essex County Sports Hall of Fame in 1999. Club 240 had its beginnings in 1960, when Jimmy’s kids started playing outdoor hockey at Memorial Park. At that time the only league operating indoors was Midget; the outdoor season was limited to only 7 or 8 games, as the city didn’t allow teams to go beyond the league into the Ontario Minor Hockey Association playdowns (OMHA).
