U8 and U9 Travel Information

Attention 2013 and 2014 birth year families looking for information on your 2021/22 Travel season!

If your child would like to try out for either of these teams, as with all our other WMHA Travel teams, you must fill out the Intent to Try Out Form.  This mandatory form allows us to properly plan for the required ice for tryouts.

Players also must be REGISTERED with WMHA for the upcoming season.  If your player is not yet registered, please check out the Registration page HERE


U8 Development (2014)
Coach:  Matt Boroski
  • Tryouts will be held during AE tryouts (late September)
    • Purchasing the "Tryout Pass" is not required for this group.  An alternate method will be determined and shared
  • 18 players (16 skaters and 2 goalies).
  • Players will participate in normal house league play
  • Players will also receive an additional two hours of ice time on weekdays
  • Players will receive WMHA Travel Jerseys
  • There will be an additional parent budget for this team to cover the cost of ice time and extras determined by the coach and Travel Committee
    • Fundraising options to help cover costs
  • Travel guidelines will be followed, including equipment dress code
    • Black Helmets
    • Black Pants
    • Black Gloves
  • Bi-weekly professional skill development
U9 AA (2013)
Coach:  Justin Garant
  • Tryouts will be held during AA tryout period (mid September)
  • Team will compete in Bluewater League play
    • 1/2 ice games until mid January as mandated by Hockey Canada
    • Bluewater playoffs
  • Up to 2 out of town tournaments
  • Players will receive WMHA Travel Jerseys
  • There will be an additional parent budget for this team to cover the cost of ice time and extras determined by the coach and Travel Committee
    • Fundraising options to help cover costs
  • Travel guidelines will be followed, including equipment dress code
    • Black Helmets
    • Black Pants
    • Black Gloves
  • Bi-weekly professional skill development
