Novices hit the ice!
The under the watchful eye of NHL veteran and WMHA alum Alek Stojanov, the Windsor Jr. Spitfires Novice 'AA's hit the ice flying on November 1 against the Erie-North Shore Storm.

The Lil' Spits, consisting of 12 skaters and two goalies, are a feisty, high-flying group that constantly push the pace and leave it all out on the ice.

After four October exhibition games to acclimate themselves to the new OMHA half-ice standard for Novice hockey, the boys started their 2019-20 Bluewater League campaign with three games in rapid succession to start November.

Goalies Vincent Gravel and Robby Mighton stood on their heads between the pipes, while snipers Nico Scalia, Tristan Fournier, Euan McDonald, and Cooper Patterson ripped the mesh at the other end.

Not to be outdone, solid efforts were put forth at both ends of the rink by Hunter Boroski, Leo Fazio, Keagan Harway, Ryan LaSorda, Noah MacDonald, Archer Ranola, Noah Wylie, and Ethan Youssef.

Two days later, the Lil' Spits made their way out to the Atlas Tube Centre for their first roadie of the season against the Belle River Canadiens.  The boys put up another great showing before trekking out to play the LaSalle Sabres for the first time the following Friday.

The novices are back in action on Saturday, November 16 at 1:30 p.m. as they host Canadiens at the Capri Pizza Recreation Complex.

Club 240
Founded by the late Jimmy Hogan, inductee into the Windsor-Essex County Sports Hall of Fame in 1999. Club 240 had its beginnings in 1960, when Jimmy’s kids started playing outdoor hockey at Memorial Park. At that time the only league operating indoors was Midget; the outdoor season was limited to only 7 or 8 games, as the city didn’t allow teams to go beyond the league into the Ontario Minor Hockey Association playdowns (OMHA).
