Travel Tryout Information **UPDATED with AAA PTS**
The 2024/25 U10-U16 WMHA Travel Tryouts start May 1st, 2024 and are proudly supported by Canadian Tire Windsor!  The Windsor Canadian Tire stores have stepped up in a HUGE way to help make tryouts more affordable for our WMHA families!  Canadian Tire Windsor has covered the cost of this year's tryout jerseys helping to reduce the overall cost of the tryout season, a savings passed directly to our families

The Tryout Schedule has been posted to the TRYOUT TAB and individual team calendars. Please follow the online schedules, as dates and times may change.

Additional entry teams (B/C) and House league Select teams will ONLY be formed if there are sufficient numbers at the A team tryouts. These teams are intended to help players develop to push for spots on the A teams, therefore, their existence is determined by the number of interested players attending A tryouts.

Tryout information is as follows:

Pre-Registration: All players will be required to Pre-Register for tryouts as we have done for the last number of years. The link is open HERE and will remain open until April 30th for U10 to U16. Please sign up as soon as possible, this helps us determine how many jerseys we need, and if there is additional ice times required. The form will open again for U8, U9 and U18 in late summer. Please make sure that you register your player for tryouts as soon as possible as it allows our committee and coaches to properly plan the tryouts based on the number of registrants.

Tryout Pass: Tryout passes are $75. Tryout passes must be purchased prior to tryouts using the Hockey Canada Spordle registration portal HERE. In the payment process, you may be required to select 'skip registration' until association registration opens for the year.  If you do not purchase a pass, your player will not be permitted on the ice. The tryout pass covers the cost of all tryouts for both the ‘A’ team and additional entry 'B' team tryouts if necessary, and a tryout jersey. Goalies are FREE for tryouts, however they must still complete the registration form noted above.

All players must complete both the REGISTRATION FORM as well as purchase the TRYOUT PASS.  Goalies do not need to purchase a tryout pass, but must register for tryouts

Tryout Process: Players will be guaranteed 3 skates before the first round of releases. Players will receive a jersey sponsored by Canadian Tire Windsor at the first tryout. This jersey will be theirs for the entire tryout and to keep once tryouts are done. The player will be responsible to have their jersey with them at all tryouts, failure to wear the correct jersey may result in players being incorrectly evaluated. Replacement jerseys will be at a cost of $25. After the first tryout, the website will be updated in the Tryout Player Roster Tab on each team's home page listing the players that are to return the following skate. We will make every effort to update these rosters no more than 2 hours after each tryout.  This list will also be updated for players sitting and dressing for exhibition games. In the event that a player’s name does not appear on the roster they will not be continuing with the A level tryout process. We encourage those players to continue to the additional entry team (B) tryouts that will follow A tryouts.

U14 and older Checking Clinic: All U14 and up players wishing to attend tryouts will be required to attend a checking clinic. WMHA will be offering a clinic on Friday May 3rd. Due to an expected large number of players attending, there will be two sessions. The WMHA clinic will be run by Danny Anger (DHD). Players trying out for U15, U16 or U18 who have not attended a checking clinic in the past are also required to attend. There will be a fee of $25 for the checking clinic to cover the costs.  2012 aged players are also welcome to attend for AP purposes to U14A

AAA Permission To Skate: AAA permission to skate forms are available for download from our website..  Parents are to complete and print the form and hand in at check in for AAA tryouts. PTS forms will no longer be available at the AAA zone sign in desk as per AAA Zone instructions, but this year, are available to be downloaded from our website directly.  Forms can be downloaded and printed HERE

There are no NRP players this season as all Bluewater centers are 'A' designation.  This means players are only eligible to try out for A level programming in their home center
