Exhibition Windsor 4 LaSalle1 1
The Windsor Jr Spitfires continued to stay busy with exhibition games scheduling 3 games over this past weekend. Our coaching staff wants to be sure we remain sharp and game ready while our opponents play in high pressure games. His plan is effective as our boys have continued to improve during this time.

This is our 5th game against the LaSalle 1 team and we are always in tough against this competitive group.

Period 1

The game starts and LaSalle is showing why they had only 4 losses all season long (2 against us!!). They battle hard and kept up to speed with us. Their defense collapsed well on our speedy forwards and we did the same against them/ At the 8:09 mark LaSalle gets on the board putting us behind 0-1. The crowd was getting antsy as the scorekeeper appeared to be all thumbs and blindfolded causing significant delays. Mark Remneitz, claims this was not his first rodeo and the way he managed the clock certainly left no doubt about that. Just kidding, Mark :)

At the end of the first LaSalle was up by one but we were beginning to take control!!

Period 2

The second period starts and Windsor is started to show their strengths. Our defense holds off LaSalle and our forwards are starting to keep the puck in their zone. Gamble lights the lamp assisted by Boismier evening up the score not even 1 minute into the period. Midway through the period Muxlow nets one from Mouawad to put us up. The game is starting to get away from LaSalle even though it is only a one goal game. Windsor continues to pressure LaSalle as the period ends. It is 2-1 going into the 3rd!!!

Period 3

Just what is going on with the scoreboard is anyone's guess. Reimnietz has an entire team of advisors having a round table discussion to determine the correct usage of the game clock. The word is the instruction sheet was given to Mark but it was the coffee stained Russian version. Ok he has it, the seconds are counting down instead if up and the penalty minutes are working. Congrats Mark you have proven you are cool as a cucumber under pressure!! On to the game...........
Windsor is in control and though LaSalle has their moments it is Windsor that appears to be more effective. LaSalle has an excellent opportunity but Kuharski races back and makes the defensive play of the game interrupting an onrushing LaSalle forward. Windsor's #21 scores again putting us up 3-1. Now 2 minutes later it is Miller with a fancy move after receiving a nifty pass from the time keeper's son, Justin Reimneitz with the second assist going to Mouawad. That's Mouawad's second assist of the game.
Windsor is on a roll and getting stronger when the buzzer goes signaling curfew with 5:24 remaining in the 3rd period.

Our boys looked fantastic and ready to take on Blue Water's best!!
