PLAYDOWNS: VS LASALLE GM1

We now have our first ever playdown game in the books and it was a great experience. We faced our old friends from Lasalle and came out with a big first game win to set the tone for the series.
We had a week and half since the team saw game action and in the first period you could tell. The Sabres showed up ready to go and were the better team in the period. For that we would see them score the opening goal. Windsor would not tally and would leave the period down.
The second was similar to the first except Windsor started to wake up and would put 2 goals in the net. Now up 2-1 going into the third the mighty Spitfires engines were warm and they would be in full flight. In full form now and with great teamwork the Spits would put in 7 third period goals to Lasalle's 1 and completely run away with the game. Final score was 9-2 for Windsor.
I think we learned a lot in this game. Regular season is over and teams are going to emerge and show their true colors. That's what makes post season hockey awesome!
Game 2 will be in Lasalle Sunday.
