PLAYDOWNS: VS LASALLE GM2

We entered game 2 of the playdowns ready to go. The Jr. Spits would start with some bad luck though taking a penalty in the first 30 seconds of the game. Unknowing this was a sign for things to come.
It was a usual Lasalle - Windsor game with end to end chances and a low scoring first period. Windsor would tally half way through the first taking a 1-0 lead but just as the period was about to end Windsor would get dinged with another penalty with 19 seconds left. This would mean we would start the second down a man.
Windsor would kill off the penalty that began the period and started to mustard up a good game when once again a player was sentenced to the sin bin. Fortunately the Spitfires were able to kill the penalty. Lasalle would take 2 penalties of their own this period but it somehow ended with no goals scored.
On to the third we go and if you have witnessed any of the previous 8 games we have played Lasalle the third period is usually all Windsor. Not this time though because both teams were playing really well. But guess what?.....just over 3 minutes in we go to the box. On the PK again we go, but this time Windsor would pop a shorty to take a 2-0 lead. The Jr. Spits would try to keep the momentum going but would get struck down by yet another penalty. Again it was killed off.
In the final 2 minutes you would see Lasalle finally score and attack the rest of the game with their goalie pulled. Final score would be 2-1 for Windsor and would be a really good game between the teams. Penalties defiantly hurt us because we couldn't carry any momentum but this is playdowns so we have to come prepared.
Next match will be Wednesday at Forest Glade Arena. Come cheer the kids on as they look to close out the series.
