PLAYDOWNS: VS BELLE RIVER AE2 GM4
FEB. 24, 2014

Game 4 Windsor would be on the brink of elimination.  A loss and this team was out of the playdowns.  These kids would have to bring it all.

There were a lot of nerves in the air as the kids prepared to hit the ice.  After last game it wasn't certain what team would show up.  Was it the Jr Spits of the past or was it going to be the Jr Spits of today.

The puck dropped and now it was time to see who showed up tonight.  It wouldn't take long because Windsor came out gunning and scored the opening goal in the first 2 minutes of the game.  A bit of relief set in the crowd but we knew after playing this team so many times anything can happen.  Windsor continued to play hard and it was now clear how bad they wanted it.  The period finished 1-0 for Windsor.

Windsor tallied once more in the second and again showed their mighty power and would hold the extremely offensive Canadians scoreless through 2.

Now with a 2-0 lead going into the third The Jr Spitfires raged on not letting anyone break their game.  They were defiantly a team playing their hearts out tonight.  It was amazing to see how well they can play together.  Belle River would continue to press giving it their all and finally getting on the board but Windsor was right there with their answer scoring 19 seconds later.  The two teams would trade goals 1 more time but this night was all Windsor and no one was going to stop them.  Adding and empty net goal the game finished 5-2 for The Jr Spitfires.

One of Windsor's keys to success all year is their diversity in scoring.  It is a huge advantage not having to rely on the same people to put the puck in the net every game.  It was absolutely awesome to see every kid showing us why they were on this team displaying minimal mistakes.  This was a game that every parent should be at their very proudest of their child.  They deserved every inch of this game and no matter what happens on Wednesday no one can deny that this game was theirs.  What a night!
