Essex Early Bird Game 1
The Novice AE team got off to a great start at the Essex Earlybird Tournament this evening!  The first period was pretty quiet, with both teams holding their own. At the start of the second period, Fry makes it 1-0 with a flip shot over the goalie.

The team was pumped to be first on the scoreboard! Minutes later, there was a bit of a scramble in front of our net until Geng got a hold of the puck and passed it off to Johnston who took it down the ice. The Chatham forwards were in close pursuit but Johnston managed to get the shot off and the puck made its way over the goal line; 2-0 Windsor! Now it's the third period and it's obvious the Cobras has found their legs because they are really putting the pressure on! Aiden is really making some great saves! With only a few minutes left in the 3rd period, Chatham sneaks one past him making it 2-1.

It was just the boost the Chatham team needed, and with the clock counting down the final 2 minutes of the game it was obvious they were desperate for another goal to tie the game. Back and forth the play went up and down the ice. You could feel the excitement in the air! Chatham had some good scoring chances and easily could have tied the game had it not been for our strong defense and goaltending. With just a little over one minute left in the game, Vespa, assisted by Fry Guy, nets Windsor's third and final goal. The game ends with a final score of 3-1.

Way to go Spits!
