Essex Early Bird Tournament Cont’d
In round robin play, the Jr. Spits won their first 3 games without too much difficulty from the opposing teams.  Our fourth match up, against Flamborough, proved to be a “barn burner” though, as both teams were locked at 0-0 going into the final minutes of the third period, and it was obvious neither team was giving up without a fight.

With baited breath, we watched as both Flamborough and Windsor had some good scoring opportunities, but alas, it was not to be for either team. The game ended with a 0-0 tie. When all was said and done, this put the Jr. Spits in second place overall, thereby guaranteeing us a spot in the championship game on Sunday afternoon against the Kent Cobras.

Championship Game

The Spits came out strong in the first period but it took until the bottom of the first for Fry Guy, assisted by Langlois and Vespa, to get the scoring going for Windsor.

Second Period : The second goal of the game was scored by Ward, on an assist from Jakovcic and Gatto. Also in the second period,  Pougnet scored on a pass from Machan and Jeffrey; 3-0 Windsor.

Third Period : Jakovcic scores ,assisted by Beloulis, to make it a 4-0 final score.

We are the champions!!!! Congratulations on a job well done!!!
