Well tonight's 5-2 win over the Belle River Canadiens sends them away for the reminder of the season until we potentially meet up with them in the playdowns or playoffs.
This win also brings the season series against Belle River to 2-2-2!!! Great work boys!!
Coach Scott send a text to the other coaches during the day that we will have to rely on Caleb for the first 2 periods. I would suggest you all call him for lottery ticket numbers tonight as he was bang on. The team was asleep at the wheel for the first period and part of the second. We were down 2-0 after the first but that would be all Belle River would get. The third period saw the team that we have come to know show up. Once we started skating and back checking Belle River didn't have answer and 5 unanswered goals and very few shots against us proved the point. We win when will play a gritty in your face game and that is what it took tonight.
When we play Windsor hockey we get production and help from everyone. Knowing that anyone can put the puck in the net at any time is a great thing to have in a team. I like the depth that is developing on team.
I probably shouldn't admit this but I love shaking the hands of the other teams coaches after a game they were expecting to win. Seeing the expressions of disbelief is satisfying. I can't wait to experience this on Sunday against Tecumseh.
They simply do not have a clue what is coming for them.
